KAIS - Take Me Home.jpg

Canadian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer KAIS (Kais Khoury) takes the complexities

of the human condition as inspiration for his fusionist sound that sonically melds the realms of Neo Soul, Mellow Alternative, Blues and Folk Rock. At the outset of his music career, he addressed global topics before turning his attention to the drab difficulties and profound beauty of being human and lyrically dipped into meta poetry.

As a lover of the metaphysical, KAIS’ work consists of finding the balance between natural inclinations and the demands in an ego-driven late-stage capitalist world. His wanderlust tendencies have seen him gracing global stages since the late 2000s as an independent touring artist. In 2014, he took part in the Mayor of London Big Busk and graduated with a diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering from Point Blank Music College

He toured Vancouver, Toronto and Seattle with a full band in 2016 and 2017,  received an honorary mention in the 2016 International Songwriting Competition, a Canadian Best Out of Province nomination at the 13th Annual Toronto Independent Music Awards and a Lyrics Finalist position in the 2017 USA Songwriting Competition.

In 2020, KAIS joined the London Indie sync licensing roster, North Note, and in 2021 he was invited to prestigious shows by BBC Radio London host Robert Elms for his seminal 2018 single, Take Me Home.

Currently, KAIS works out of Hot Soap Studios, his personal and commercial recording studio in Cyprus, where he continues to work on his profoundly explorative music.

“In a time when it is impossible to hear anything but aggravated polarised opinions, KAIS’ intellectually humanistic approach to music is the breath of fresh air that our souls are crying out for.”

“Take Me Home - A provocatively tender Indie Rock ballad for the homesick. Indie artist KAIS has moved from strength to strength throughout their accoladed career, after quite literally putting their birthplace of Jordan on the map, they've started to garner plenty of International hype for their provocatively intuitive approach to production.”

Kais Seven Shades of She.png
“Overall, a very impressive release from KAIS but what’s even more impressive about Seven Shades of She”, is the fact that it is boundless in every sense as the artist pretty much morphs into a combination of Montell Jordan, Adam Levine and Elton John to produce an exquisite and progressive indie/soul album which for all the good reasons, stays in your head all day!”

- The Dope Approach

Spirit City Kiss Νο.2_HD.jpg
“With a grungy Coffee-and-TV-Esque production containing swaggering, longing, intimate indie-rock vocals against synths and rich accordant guitar chords, Spirit City Kiss opens up as a psychedelically-tinged rabbit hole. Enter, and you will share the same nostalgia for the city that allows you to feel at home.”

Healing Final_Title_300 dpi.jpg
KAIS’ ever-evolving sound isn’t something that you can ever grow accustomed to. There has always been a fundamental sense of spirituality in his sound, something REAL to connect with. Healing's stripped-back vulnerability amplifies the emotion he conveys with the intent of extending compassion to anyone going through a journey of healing (so that is pretty much all of us).”

It takes some serious reading between the anthemic uplifting lines to pull out the protestive fire that any establishment would be desperate to put out through fear of it cutting profit margins that are boosted by dull hiveminds. On the flip side of that, texturally, Hot Air Balloon is a dreamy, kaleidoscopic blister of bliss, which is all too welcome in these easy to lament times. Every time, KAIS breezes back even better than the last time we heard his exploratively introspective tracks, which still come with that A-list radio-ready appeal, despite the seemingly infinite depth.

Willow_Titles No Artist 150dpi.jpg

Right from the start of his new single “Willow,” KAIS manages to get us entranced with nostalgia and sadness, all distilled through an unspeakable beauty of sounds.

EP_Final.jpg

Neatly packaged within the largely instrumental three-track EP ‘What If I’, KAIS' new sound comes with a sense of tranqulity, brimming with subtle confidence and creativity that takes shape through spoken word philosophical verses, evolving musical passages, and bold exploration of tone, atmosphere, and sonic ideology.
